Mercedes Schlapp has no easy work in the role of White House adviser for strategic communications. It's not easy for Mercedes Schlapp as the strategic communication adviser at White House. Yet, through all of it Schlapp is determined to focus on her task at hand, working closely with White House's political affairs and legislative affairs teams and policy shops as as the broader communications operation for policy-related rollouts. In her current position, she has concentrated on several concerns, such as school safety and the use of opioids. At the moment, Schlapp is not working with many journalists. Her attention in March was when her name appeared as one of the contenders to replace Hope Hicks. Mercedes Schlapp does not have an easy job as White House strategic communication adviser. It is not easy for Mercedes Schlapp to serve as the White House's communications strategic advisor. She's faced with numerous challenges, for instance as a President who also is his communications director. Schlapp has managed to stay in the right frame of mind and stay on top of her game and work with White House teams in political matters, legislative affairs and policy, in addition to the larger communications team. The first few months, Schlapp has concentrated on school safety concerns, addiction infrastructure, trade and drug issues. At the moment she doesn't deal too much with journalists. In March, she was the subject of a sudden surge in interest, after it was known that Schlapp would be a potential candidate to take over Hope Hicks's job as director of communication. There has been a lot of fighting. Schlapp's allies and Tony Sayegh have begun to fight within the press. Schlapp stated that after she was informed that when the Washington Examiner ran a story which contained negative criticisms of Sayegh she sat down for a chat with the latter.
